Youth Promoting Sustainable Development competition
Enabling young people to find their role in promoting sustainable development.
SYAH Seychelles wanted to give your people the opportunity to educate themselves about sustainable development.
WHAT WE DID
We launched the "How can youth promote sustainable development?" competition nationally, to get young people below the age of 30 thinking about their role in the promotion of sustainable development and using different forms of creative expressions to do so.
Students in primary, secondary and post-secondary schools as well as young professionals participated. The different categories included:
The submissions were judged and following that we recognised the work of the winners with a short prize-giving ceremony. At the prize giving ceremony young people had the opportunity to also hear the poem by the students of the School of the Hearing-impaired, the poem of a youth from Beau Vallon secondary school and the winning public speaking team.
SYAH hopes to launch another competition this year but with a new theme.
Launched in February 2015
